I have compiled the life work of John Barrons Richards, my great grandfather. He emigrated at age 14, from the mines in Wales. Short on education, he pressed forward, immersing in literature of the time. He began penning poems, mostly for his family. Health issues had forced him to move from Missouri to Colorado and California, where he found his sunset in San Francisco. JBR recounts Wales, his faith, love of his new country, and a full life of experience. He wrote meticulous letters to his children, which prompted this prolific look thru JBR’s eyes and heart. All was gathered and boxed to my father, by my grandmother in Bakersfield, CA in the 1970’s.
